Carl Oseen has peacefully passed from this world into the next.
He was born in Manhattan, New York on May 5th, 1932, the older of two children, to Alex Oseen and Mathilda Maleike Oseen. He was raised in Pearl River, New York. After graduating from Pearl River High School in 1950 he became sports editor of two area weekly newspapers. He joined the United States Air Force in 1951 and was a wing lead B29 Tail Gunner during the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant. While stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base, in Idaho, he met Lee Dille and her young daughter, Peggy. They were married in 1950’s and had five children. They were later divorced. Carl married Sammy Monprode Oseen in the 1970’s. Even though they later divorced, they stayed close until her death.
After his military service, Carl went into the shoe business. Not only managing Falks shoe store, but also designing women’s shoes. He held many sales positions and ended his career publishing several shopper type newspapers.
Carl is survived by his sons: Randy, Kent (Shari) and Blake (Kelli); daughter, Shannon, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his only sister, Leila Oseen Smith and her 4 children: Bobby, Cindy, Tommy, Sandy and their families.
He was proceded in death by both of his parents, brother in law, Robert (Smitty) G. Smith, daughter, Wendy Oseen Stoffel and his grandson, Christopher Oseen.
Carl was a member of, and devoted to a 12 step program, for which his children are very thankful. The family would like to thank the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the Boise VA Medical and CLC Hospice. Also thank you to all his friends who had become family. And a special thanks to Glenda Tunison for helping the family through this transition. There will be a graveside service with Military Honors at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 3:00 PM. Carl was a longtime fan of Hillary Clinton (medication?) and was asked if he wanted her mentioned in obit. He just laughed and laughed. So there Dad, we mentioned her. May God rest your soul.
