Beverley Long Ross of Boise, Idaho released her earthly body on April 20, 2017 after dealing with the effects of early onset Alzheimer’s on her beautiful spirit. She is in JOY now!!
Bev was born on September 1, 1940 in Reno, NV and graduated Reno High in 1958. She attended Nevada where she met her husband of 57 years, Barry Ross. She graduated from Sacramento State with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She went on to teach special needs children in Maryland, Kindergarten in North Carolina and owned and taught at Boise Pre-School , in Boise’s North End, before starting her real estate career in 1978.
Bev was an active member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, Soroptimist International of Boise, Boise Board of Realtors, Women’s Council of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, and was appointed to Boise Parks Board.
As a young adult she was also involved in Rainbow Girls and was awarded Grand Cross of Color – the highest honor for this Masonic order. She was also a member of Pi Beta Phi and did volunteer work as a regular part of both of these organizations.
She had a passion for music, learning, reading, volunteering and travel where she put her toes in the sand at whatever beach she came across on her journeys…
She is survived by her husband, Barry Ross (Boise, ID), son & daughter-in-law Mike & Lesa Ross (Boise, ID), daughter Pam Ross (San Diego, CA). 4 grand children Ashley Jenkins, Abbey Davis, Zach Snodgrass and Patrick Ross, and two great grandchildren Colby and Adella. Her brother Jim Long (Reno, NV) and sister Marilyn DeMoss (Woodland, CA) along with 5 wonderful nieces and their families.
Her voice is missed in all our lives and we will always remember her tag line “Spread Joy” and will do so in her honor…
