Saundra T. McDavid, MBA. JD, 49, of Eagle, Idaho, passed away on March 5th surrounded by family, friends and her animals.
Survived by her husband, Andrew V. Petrehn; her two children: son, USAF Cadet Second Lieutenant Andrew M. Petrehn and daughter, Sydney M. Petrehn; brother, Benjamin T. McDavid of Kansas City, KS and father, Ben L. McDavid of St. Louis, MO.
Saundra was born on June 16, 1968 to parents, Ben L. McDavid and Mary T. McDavid of St. Louis, Missouri. Saundra graduated from University of Kansas with a degree in Business Administration, and then graduated from St. Louis University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate and a Master’s in Business Administration.
Saundra was an accomplished equestrian rider in Hunter Jumper and Dressage classes and lover of the Gypsy Vanners horse breed. Saundra was a self-published author of her book Sumarity
. Saundra was a Professor of Law, Business, and Cyber-security at numerous universities, member of the Missouri Bar and practiced law in Missouri. Saundra was a consultant for business, technology, and legal issues for companies and schools.
Saundra was an outspoken advocate for the City of Eagle and for the State of Idaho regarding the quality of life here in the Treasure Valley. Saundra was president of the Treasure Valley Women’s Lacrosse League and was president of Eagle High School's womens lacrosse program. She pioneered the way for sanctioning of womens lacrosse throughout the valley. Saundra was an active alumni of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and was able to see her daughter, Sydney, initiated into the Idaho Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Idaho. She was a musician and played the piano, and the violin. She was also a supporter of the arts. She was an avid scuba diver who loved to travel with her family to remote diving destinations.
Saundra will be remembered as a loving mother, an adoring wife and lover of all animals, big and small.
A celebration of life will take place on her birthday, June 16, at the family’s house in Eagle, ID at 5:00pm. Those wishing to attend are asked to contact the family for a full schedule of events, dress and details. Remembrances may be left for the family www.AccentFuneral.com
