• My Life Story

  • Jared Alexander Usary lost his courageous battle with cancer on July 7, 2018.  He is survived by Margie, his wife of more than twenty years, their three children, Solomon, Isaac, Joy and daughter-in-law, Taylor.  He is also survived by his parents, Dan and Patricia Usary and sister, Christina.  He will be greatly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and loving friends.

Jared was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ who was serious about living a life that exemplified Christian values.  He lived out the teachings of Christ in a practical way through his everyday responsibilities and encounters with people.  It was important to Jared to impart the principles of Christ’s teaching to his children.  He did this by being a role model to his wife and children and teaching them by example.  In reflection, Solomon recalled that his dad taught him by example patience, humility, and how to treat a woman.  Isaac remembered that his dad taught him to be there for other people when they were in need, to stand up for his principles, work hard and earn his own way, and avoid conflicts when possible by choosing his battles carefully. Joy said that her dad taught her to be respectful, brave, and honest.

Jared exemplified masculinity through his strength of character, his courage, determination, honor, nobility, sturdiness, and spirit. He had a passion for hunting and taught his children many important values while hunting with them.

Jared loved his country and was a patriot to the core.  He believed that America was the greatest country in the world and he sought to protect the foundational principle of freedom upon which our nation was founded.  He endeavored to pass this love to his children.

Prior to his cancer diagnosis in September, 2017, Jared was Project Manager for Krieger Steel, a manufacturer of specialty doors.
