Obituary of Gary Dean Sharp

Gary Dean Sharp, 69 of Nampa Idaho, passed away Monday, March 15th, 2021. Gary was born on Monday, November 5th, 1951 in Portland Indiana and raised in Macon Georgia. 

At the age of seventeen, Gary enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served two tours, one in Germany and one in Vietnam. "Boots on the ground" — Gary was part of a combat brigade and bravely served our country in live combat.

Gary Dean Sharp then made his way to California where he fell head over heels for the love of his life, Cynthia Elaine Quintana. Gary and Cindy were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, June 5th, 1976 in Sanlorenzo California. Gary was a gun enthusiast and enjoyed hunting, fishing and many other outdoor sports. He was known for loving his neighbor and helping those in need. Gary served a number of years in the bus ministry, and he enjoyed playing the drums and the harmonica as a skilled musician.  Gary Dean loved animals and always treated every creature with compassion and respect. As a hunter he always said "only shoot what your going to eat.” Gary is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cynthia Sharp, his three daughters Stacy Hawkins, Shelly Hernandez, Erica Koger, his 16 grandchildren, Veronica, Victoria, Joey, Trystunn, Mycka, Matty, Ricky, Leo, Jairo, Lizzy, Gabby, Bella, Hernan, Araceli, And two-step grandchildren, Omar and Brayden. He also had the opportunity to meet his one great-granddaughter, Pennelope. His family knew him as Poppy, and they loved him dearly. Gary Sharp is also survived by his older brother Steven Fisher and his little sister Barbie Stump. Gary will always be remembered and greatly missed by everyone that was blessed to be part of his life.
