Obituary of Ronald Cyril Schroeder

He never met a stranger, was a friend to all, a life well lived and he was very well-loved!  The Lord called Ronald Cyril Schroeder home suddenly and unexpectedly, with family by his side on Tuesday, June 21, 2021, in his 83rd year, but we never had enough time and weren’t ready to let him go.

This considerate, loving, funny, kind, and wonderful man was everything to us and left a permanent mark etched on our hearts. He will be extremely missed by his children Crystal, Tina, Michal, Connie, Kathy, Pamela, their husbands, his grands and greats, nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family was the pivotal essence of Ron’s life, and sharing smiles was his great asset! He was proud and honored to be the patriarch to all in our large extended family, always been a major presence to them, and supportive in every way.

Born in Wisconsin in the summer of 1938, Ron spent his life hardworking and dedicated, with Military Service in the Air Force, from the heat of Texas and hurricanes in Louisiana to Fairbanks Alaska! To Washington then California, where he started his family before returning to care for his father in Wisconsin.

He gave his skill, inventive ideas, and service to General Motors, then to Morrison Knudsen in Boise, later buying and running Carl’s Market as a family business in Emmett. He finally retired from Boise Water Corp. Ron loved the great outdoors and family adventures, BBQ’s with friends, car shows, and auto races.

He’s always had a long-standing relationship with God and was very blessed with his faith to his dying breath.

He was predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Rose; brothers: Tom and Gordon; within minutes of his cousin, Elaine; many precious grands and greats as well as other friends and relatives waiting to greet him in happy reunion, along with a few pets (Garfield), as he loved animals.

He is survived by his loving children, sons-in-law, grandchildren, their spouses, and many beautiful treasured greats! Ron will be forever remembered for his immense wisdom, goofy nature, generosity, beautiful smile, gentle eyes, caring heart, comforting embrace, and unconditional love.

Although our hearts are very heavy, we will celebrate his life and find comfort that he is in heaven watching over us.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Apostles Catholic Church, 6300 N. Meridian Rd, Meridian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31st, with military honors and inurnment to follow.
