James Carroll

Obituary of James Edward Carroll

James Edward Carroll III passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2021.  He was born in San Francisco on September 17, 1946 to Rita and James Carroll Jr.  He lived in the Sunset district until he was 5 years old and then they moved to Greenbrea in Marin County.  Jim went to Redwood High School where he excelled in football, baseball and basketball.  He graduated from San Jose State.

Jim worked for Trask & Squire in sales then as a manufacture’s rep with Carroll & Assoc.  During this time a great friend asked him to move to Wisconsin and help with his business.  Jim spent 15 wonderful years with Bradley Washfountain helping develop new products and eventually became the president of the company.  During this time Jim was also instrumental in starting Little League baseball in Elm Grove/ Brookfield.  He also started a Pop Warner football program in Elm Grove/Brookfield.  All the while coaching and mentoring young players.

After leaving Bradley, Jim and Bev enjoyed travelling and visiting family and friends.  Jim was an avid tennis player.  The last 7 years were spent in Greenville, South Carolina where Jim enjoyed being a member of the Score mentoring program helping new businesses get started.

In 2018, Jim became a grandfather twice.  With his Parkinson’s and all the complications with it, traveling became more difficult.  The decision was made in March of 2020 to move to Boise, Idaho to be closer to his grandchildren.  Jim was a great supporter of the Healthy Living Center and their delay the disease program.

Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly, of 41 years; daughter: Nichole (Bill) Wells, and Erin (Jeff) Hank; son: Tyler (Megan); brother: Peter (Glena); numerous nieces and nephews.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to so many.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers have a margarita for him. He’d like that.
