Obituary of Sharon Alberta Parish

Sharon Alberta Parish passed away in her sleep at home in Meridian, Idaho the morning of July 26th, 2021 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born Sharon Alberta Brazier on November 2, 1955, in Yonkers, New York; she was the daughter of the late Albert and Viki Brazier. Sharon was the third youngest of seven children (Viki, Debbie, Bill, Donna, Chris, and Jared).  She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Viki Brazier, sister Debbie Brazier, brothers Bill Brazier and Chris LaPort.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Paul Parish; five children: Christopher Murch and life partner Marquette, Randall Murch and wife Erika, Gregory Murch and wife Vanessa, Melissa Spencer and husband Daniel, and PJ Parish; her three siblings: Viki Bean, Donna Dexter, and Jared Brazier; she also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Sharon grew up in Yonkers, New York, and was raised in Old Bridge, New Jersey where she graduated from Madison Township High School in 1973. Sharon’s siblings remember her as being a great sister who showed patience, sensitivity, kindness, and generosity. Sharon was also a great example of ambition by being the first sibling to get her college degree. She also shared a special relationship with her brother Bill, they were best friends growing up, they were born a little over a year apart, and departed this world a little under a year apart.

Sharon started her family in 1975 later deciding to move to Idaho in 1986 with her husband and her children to join her parents who moved there a few years before. She worked a few different jobs, her favorite being a fabric store where she spent most of her time sewing beautiful clothes, quilts, and hats. Sharon decided to go to college and become a teacher, so in 1998 she graduated with honors at Idaho State University in Education. After graduating she forged her own path in educating various individuals in various avenues, making an impact on the individuals she taught, until she retired.

Sharon was a devoted wife and mom with the patience of a saint. She was a fabulous Grandma and Great Grandma. She loved music, especially The Beatles and country music, with the occasional ICP and rock influenced by her sons. Sharon was so very gifted at sewing and knitting, which she spent a lot of her spare time doing. Sharon made many clothes for her kids as they grew up, and later on, enjoyed a knitting club at her church making hats and gloves for the community. She loved to read, and loved to bake.  She was a force to be reckoned with and very strong-willed up until the very end.
