Charles F. “Fred” Riddle

February 5, 1939 – June 30, 2022

Fred Riddle, age 83, of Boise, ID passed away in the early morning hours of June 30, 2022 at St. Luke’s Medical Center, Eagle Campus.

Fred was born in Caldwell, ID on February 5, 1939 to Walter and Molly (Lawrance) Riddle.

He graduated from Caldwell High School in the class of 1957. Fred married his high school sweetheart, Ardene Dretke in 1960 in Caldwell and enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage. They raised their two children, Alan and Karan, in Boise.

Fred worked in the telecommunications industry for 32 years in various positions around the state of Idaho, retiring with US West in 1989. He lived an active outdoor life, with interests in snowmobiling, hiking, snowshoeing, bicycling, and spending time at their Idaho City cabin with his wife. He was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and enjoyed volunteering at Luther Heights Bible Camp every summer. He was an active volunteer with Talking Books, Telephone Pioneers, and Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Fred was a loving father, grandfather, husband, and friend, and he will be dearly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Molly; Stepmother, Ruth; brothers, Glen and Larry; and his beloved wife Ardene.

Fred is survived by his son Alan Riddle and wife Rhonda Miller, daughter Karan Lockhart and husband Andrew, and two grandchildren, Kai Lockhart and wife Carrie, and Ian Lockhart and wife Juliann.
