Obituary of Charlotte Raye Stearns
CHARLOTTE RAYE (BARNES) STEARNS was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on April 1, 1929 to Ray and Vira Barnes. Her family moved to Boise, Idaho where she resided for most of her 94 years of life.
She was the beloved wife of Sterling Arthur Stearns. They were married on December 31, 1947. They were blessed with four children: Wade Stearns, Cathy Anderson, Alice White, and Ginny Angemi. Charlotte had twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren. Between Charlotte and Sterling, they had seven sisters and twelve brothers, most of whom resided in or near the Treasure Valley.
Charlotte worked primarily as a bookkeeper for Sterling’s construction business, primarily in the Boise area, as well as brief stays in Riverside, CA, Little Rock, AR, Moline, IL, Petaluma, CA, Santa Rosa, CA, Lewiston, ID and Fairbanks, AK. She would often take jobs at banks working as a bookkeeper when necessary. They always worked hard and enjoyed doing activities with family. They were married for over 50 years.
Charlotte grew up with a love of Art. She enjoyed baking and everyone enjoyed her wonderful cinnamon rolls along with many other dishes. She also enjoyed working in her yard as well as helping us all. She always greeted everyone with a warm smile. She had a strong faith in GOD and was a member of the World Wide Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sterling; son, Wade; granddaughter, Candice; and several brothers and sisters.
Our special thanks to Sherry and the other loving caregivers at Swan Falls Assisted Living in Kuna, ID, as well as the hospice caregivers.
