Obituary of Filadelfa Sanchez

     Filadelfa Sanchez returned home to Jesus at 6:00 pm on the evening of Saturday, June 24, 2023, at her home in Boise, Idaho. Filadelfa was surrounded by members of her family at the time of her passing.

     Filadelfa was born on August 29, 1927, in Asuncion, Oaxaca to Ricardo Sanchez and Asuncion Venegas. She married Marcelino Hernandez and raised 6 children, without ever attending school and largely alone, once she was widowed. She was a woman of great faith and raised her children to be successful and to carry on her legacy of the importance of family. Later in life, she moved to Boise, Idaho and spent many precious years visiting her large family, who called her “Abuelita”, and enjoying flowers. Abuelita, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she did, she was always joking with them, and even tried to teach them words of her spoken language, Zapoteco.

      She is remembered by her children: Cristiana, Isidro, Celia, Etelberto and Marciano Hernandez. She is also remembered by her children’s spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

     Filadelfa was preceded in death by her husband, Marcelino; and  daughter, Cliseria Hernandez.
