Obituary of George Martin Spaltro
George Martin Spaltro passed away on August 8, 2023. George was born February 18, 1943, in Portland Maine. He was 80 years of age at his death.
George served as a cook in the US Army; 4th Infantry Division and did a tour of duty in Vietnam.
George worked in the traffic lighting industry for over 40 years until his retirement in 2010. He traveled a lot thru those years and often boasted that he had been to every State and State Capital in the United States except one. For the past 11 years he had worked for Idaho Lighting Solutions, as a roadway specialist.
George loved to camp and fish with family and friends. He loved playing games, especially with his grandkids. He belonged to the Boise Peggers Cribbage Club.
He and Carolyn moved to Meridian ID, from CA in 2006 and became members of the Ten Mile Christian Church shortly thereafter. For many of those years, they hosted a Life Group of fellow believers in their home.
George was an easy-going, gentle, funny man. He always had a joke or some witty comment that made people laugh. He brought joy to so many people. He loved his family, his work, his dogs and God. He will be missed by so many people who loved him.
He fought a hard battle until the end. He was at peace that he’d be resting in God’s hands.
